“Cartea şoaptelor”

În plină campanie electorală, cu candidaţi care sunt incapabili să ofere speranţe celor care votează, eu găsesc să scriu despre o carte şi despre autorul său. Da, ar fi cazul să ne reîntoarcem la lucrurile cu adevărat importante, iar literatura este unul dintre acestea. Vreau să vă mărturisesc deschis că Varujan Vosganian mi-a produs o imensă surpriză. Nu este cazul să ridicaţi din sprâncene sau să aveţi suspiciuni. Nu despre omul politic este vorba, ci despre prozatorul Varujan Vosganian.
Cunoşteam cărţile şi talentul literar al acestui autor din urmă cu mai bine de 10 ani. Doar comoditatea mă împiedică să caut în bibliotecă una dintre primele sale cărţi, pe care mi-a scris un autograf. De-a lungul timpului, fără a vorbi aici de cariera sa politică, l-am urmărit şi nu am fost dezamăgit. Fiecare apariţie în public este un spectacol agreabil. Originea sa de armean este un dar care colorează discursul său, pune o tuşă puternică de vivacitate şi imaginaţie debordantă. Altfel, Varujan Vosganian are rigoarea germanică. Amănuntele nu sunt pentru el un element aluvionar, ci susţin tocmai argumentaţia neechivocă. Excelent orator şi o apariţie masculină care farmecă publicul prin colocvialitate şi echilibru.
Dacă acesta este personajul, cu siguranţă nu înţelegeţi de unde surpriza pentru mine. Ei bine, Varujan Vosganian este un poet acceptat de breasla scriitoricească. Însă cronicile şi nici cititorii nu au fost entuziasmaţi de versurile sale. Poate că este nevoie de timp, de decantări sau, cine ştie, nu a venit timpul pentru marele volum. Surpriza mi-a produs-o cu romanul său “Cartea şoaptelor”, carte apărută la editura Polirom şi lansată în vară şi la Craiova. O carte care scoate la iveală un prozator fascinant. Dacă Nicolae Breban l-a recomandat drept un excelent portretist, vă daţi seama că eu nu am ce să mai adaug.
“Cartea şoaptelor” este tomul pe care aşteptam să îl citesc de la un autor român. Una care să se aşeze pe primul raft al bibliotecii, lângă marii clasici ruşi şi puţin mai la dreapta de povestitorii sud-americani. Cred că povestea şoptită a suferinţei armenilor, repovestită de Varujan Vosganian, va marca literatura română. Poate că mă entuziasmez prea mult în cadrul unei rubrici în care preponderenţa o au articolele politice, însă lăsaţi-mă să visez frumos. Dacă tot ne-am bucurat că Herta Muller a câştigat Nobelul pentru literatură, de ce să nu visăm că autorul “Cărţii şoaptelor” va fi promovat şi descoperit la timp de cei care decernează râvnitul premiu? Credeţi-mă pe cuvânt şi căutaţi această carte: un politician vă va face o imensă bucurie prin proza sa! (ÎN OBIECTIV, 30.10.2099, Ediţie Specială)
