Chiar era suspendarea preşedintelui Traian Băsescu marea problemă a cetăţenilor? Întreg procesul legislativ, atât cât era, a fost blocat. Parlamentarii au abandonat orice altă activitate productivă (că altfel nu am găsit să-i spun) şi s-au pus cu parul pe şeful statului. Cot la cot, cu biluţele la vedere, UDMR şi PRM, PSD şi PNL, minorităţi şi PC au votat pentru suspendarea şi trimiterea sa în faţa poporului, la referendumul organizat pentru demiterea sa. Printre acuzaţiile absurde ce i s-au adus figurează şi aceea că Băsescu n-ar lăsa instituţiile statului să lucreze, de parcă Parlamentul României are imaginea unei uzine în care asudă aleşii neamului. Cât de tare să-i fi stresat preşedintele pe miniştri prin participarea sa la şedinţele de Guvern? Cei 322 de parlamentari care au votat pentru suspendare, fără a putea spune exact de ce au mai consultat Curtea Constituţională, de vreme ce nu-i interesa avizul negativ, au lovit ca un berbece în interesele tuturor românilor. Poate părea o afirmaţie pompoasă, lansată sub forma unei acuzaţii din partea ambelor tabere, dar realitatea este că de adâncirea crizei politice nu liderul statului se face vinovat, ci stimabilii 322 de aleşi. Erorile şi exagerările lui Traian Băsescu nu sunt un motiv temeinic pentru o decizie radicală, ce a mutat atenţia de la problemele integrării către disputa legată de un referendum cu un final anticipat de toată lumea. Este de-a dreptul o prostie să crezi că s-ar putea strânge nouă milioane de voturi pentru demiterea preşedintelui. Cei 322 ştiau foarte bine acest lucru, dovadă fiind şi încercarea eşuată de a modifica Legea referendumului. Hotărârea lor de a continua disputa cu preşedintele este absurdă şi dispreţuitoare la adresa cetăţenilor. Va fi o cheltuială bugetară inutilă, iar exerciţiul democratic nu-şi va avea rostul. Cei 322 au crezut că vor determina demisia lui Băsescu, următoarea mişcare fiind aceea de a-l împiedica să participe la alegeri. Uite că nu şi-a dat demisia. Băsescu nu va fi demis, ba chiar ne aşteptăm să înregistreze un scor favorabil. Presiunea pe cei 322 va fi enormă. Credibilitatea PSD şi PNL va fi făcută franjuri. Ambele partide şi-au trădat electoratul prin pactizarea cu adversarul tradiţional. Cât despre aventura amoroasă dintre PRM şi UDMR, ce am mai putea spune? Dispreţul faţă de cei care i-au ales şi slujirea propriilor interese au fost evidente la cei 322. Ceilalţi, cei mulţi, nu contează pentru ei. Şi cum Băsescu le stătea în cale, au ales soluţia de a-l elimina. Vor reuşi dacă noi, “ceilalţi”, nu ne vom sprijini preşedintele.
