Interviu cu Alteţa Sa Regală Principele Radu: «La nivelul elitei este o gravă carenţă de moralitate»

Reporter: Alteţă, România traversează o perioadă prelungită de criză. Nu mă refer doar la criza economică, ci şi la cea morală şi la confuzia provocată de lipsa unei viziuni pentru promovarea valorilor autentice din toate domeniile. Care credeţi că ar fi punctul de pornire pentru depăşirea situaţiei în care se găseşte societatea românească?
Principele Radu: Răspunsul trebuie căutat prin prisma trecutului recent, nu doar prin cea a prezentului. În decembrie 1989, România s-a îndreptat, ca toate ţările din zonă, spre democraţie. După 20 de ani de efort, uneori încununat de succes, ne dăm cu toţii seama că viaţa democratică şi legislaţia europeană nu sunt de ajuns pentru ca ţara noastră să fie cu adevărat liberă şi democratică. Ce anume lipseşte?
Lipsesc instituţiile, comportamentul public şi profesionalismul. Când, în decembrie 1947, Regele era gonit, odată cu el nu a plecat doar monarhia. A plecat competenţa, au plecat la Canal specialiştii din toate domeniile publice, au fost demolate complet instituţiile statului.
“Lipsesc instituţiile şi profesionalismul”
Ele nu au revenit, odată cu democraţia, în 1989. De aceea, astăzi asistăm la un fenomen paradoxal: avem democraţie, avem un început de prosperitate, o economie liberă, dar avem domnia bunului plac, în loc de forţă instituţională, avem dispreţ pentru Constituţie, în loc de etică, avem scurtcircuitarea legii pe diverse căi democratice, avem lipsă de respect şi încredere şi, mai ales, avem 20 la sută din populaţie care preferă să stea departe de România, din mâna puternicilor de astăzi. Oamenii sunt dezamăgiţi nu de sărăcie sau de criza economică, ci de liderii lor. Românii nu sunt mândri, nu au încredere, nu au sentimentul că are cineva grijă de ei. Moral vorbind, România este un mare orfelinat în care găseşti de toate. Criza instituţională, ca şi criza morală şi cea a mijloacelor nu sunt o caracteristică doar a României. La un alt nivel şi într-un alt context, crizele sus-numite sunt prezente şi în Franţa, Germania, Italia, chiar şi în Marea Britanie.
Rep.: Care este viziunea Casei Regale privind rolul şi locul României în context european?
Principele Radu: Casa Regală este coloana vertebrală a statului român modern, ea a dat trei şefi de stat de primă valoare şi a continuat să reprezinte garanţia valorilor europene şi perene în context naţional şi statal. România a fost aşezată şi menţinută la locul ei european de regi. Generaţia a cincea, a Principesei Moştenitoare Margareta, va continua acest efort până la sfârşitul zilelor.
Principele Radu: “Preşedintele reprezintă statul, nu îl conduce”
Rep.: Retragerea candidaturii Alteţei Voastre de la Preşedinţia României a fost un gest surprinzător. Consideraţi că numeroşii susţinători ai Alteţei Voastre au înţeles pe deplin motivele ce au stat la baza acestei decizii?
Principele Radu: Candidatura mea nu a intenţionat înlocuirea unui om cu un altul, ci corectarea sistemului păgubos de până acum, în care primul politician al ţării devine preşedinte, lucru aflat în ascuţită contradicţie cu Constituţia României. Preşedintele român reprezintă statul, nu îl conduce. Rolul politic exclusiv îl are prim-ministrul. De aceea, este normal ca un şef de partid să lupte să câştige alegerile parlamentare, nu prezidenţiale. Astfel, el poate avea majoritate parlamentară şi dreptul de a forma Guvernul. Toate acestea sunt limpede spuse în Constituţie. Din cauza obsesiei ceauşiste, care este încă prezentă în minţile politicienilor, ca un fel de complex de inferioritate dificil de înlăturat, toată lumea crede că suprema satisfacţie politică este să devii preşedinte. Majoritatea politicienilor ignoră evidenţa că preşedintele nu are niciun mijloc constituţional, financiar sau administrativ de a conduce politic ţara. Dacă o face, totuşi, este prin încălcarea crasă a Constituţiei. Oamenii de rând – societatea românească profundă – au înţeles foarte bine acest lucru de la mine. De aceea am atât de mulţi susţinători. Oamenii cu putere, adică cercul relativ restrâns al politicienilor, marilor oameni de afaceri şi media centrală, au rămas imuni la propunerea mea. Nu au înţeles-o şi nu au avut nevoie de ea.
Principele Radu: “Politicienii fac o confuzie gravă între scop şi mijloace”
Rep.: Cunosc faptul că nu doriţi să vă implicaţi în lupta politică, poziţie exprimată clar de Casa Regală a României. Totuşi, de ce în mai multe rânduri aţi avut declaraţii critice la adresa clasei politice actuale?
Principele Radu: Critica mea nu era una de pe poziţie politică, ci de pe poziţie statală. Nu am fost niciodată (lucru foarte greu de înţeles astăzi) adeptul unei anume doctrine politice. Am colaborat bine şi cu creştin-democraţii, şi cu socialiştii, şi cu liberalii, din 1997 încoace. Niciodată nu am exprimat păreri (bune sau rele) asupra deciziilor lor politice. De aceea am şi reuşit să stau alături de ei mai bine de un deceniu.
I-am criticat atunci când, prin comportamentul lor public, compromiteau democraţia şi instituţiile pe care le serveau. Una este să stai în Parlament şi să te lupţi politic (lucru perfect justificat şi chiar lăudabil) şi alta este să-ţi baţi joc cu primitivism, grosolănie şi brutalitate de instituţia pe care o conduci, numai fiindcă aşa crezi tu că poţi să-ţi arăţi forţa. De altfel, mai toţi politicienii Europei de astăzi fac grava confuzie între scop şi mijloace. Ei cred că, dacă-ţi petreci viaţa fiind mai iute decât rivalii tăi, dacă manevrezi, manipulezi, şmechereşti şi unelteşti, eşti tare. De fapt, nu eşti. Cei mai mulţi vor ieşi din istorie în ziua în care vor ieşi pe uşă, din biroul primit cu chirie de la istorie.
Principele Radu: “O ţară fără autostrăzi dar cu bancuri despre autostrăzi este uşor de manipulat”
Rep.: Cum priviţi diversele încercări de discreditare a Casei Regale a României, a Maiestăţii Sale Regele Mihai, inclusiv a Alteţei Voastre? De ce minciuna şi manipularea încă îşi găsesc locul în spaţiul public, pentru a lovi în tradiţia şi istoria României?
Principele Radu: Pentru că o societate fără instituţii, fără etică şi fără respect al profesionalismului şi al valorilor este o societate vulnerabilă, slabă, ambiguă. Este uşor de manipulat o ţară care, în loc de autostrăzi, are bancuri despre autostrăzi. O ţară în care inculpaţii vorbesc despre supremaţia justiţiei, în care securismul condamnă comunismul şi viceversa. Ironia sorţii este că noi am crezut acum 20 de ani că democraţia va rezolva totul. Nu este aşa, după cum se vede. Kennedy spunea, de altfel: “Democraţia este un mod de guvernare foarte grea. Ea cere însuşirile cele mai înalte de disciplină şi stăpânire de sine, voinţa de a face sacrificii în interesul general şi educaţie.”
Principele Radu: «România, Altfel», un proiect pentru o Românie cu instinctul binelui
Rep.: “România, Altfel” este proiectul pe care Alteţa Voastră l-a propus societăţii româneşti. Nu cred că ne mai putem permite luxul de a nu ţine cont de ignoranţa în care este menţinută o parte a societăţii şi, deopotrivă, de interesele meschine ale multor politicieni. În ce măsură credeţi că “România, Altfel” se va materializa?
Principele Radu: În măsura în care România va redobândi instinctul binelui. Viziunea noastră pe 30 de ani are deja trei ani de la lansarea publică. Anumiţi paşi s-au făcut. Societatea românească nu este lipsită de instinctul binelui, nici de bun-simţ. De exemplu, în anumite comunităţi locale lucrurile merg destul de bine. Economia privată are instinct prin definiţie. Intelectualitatea anonimă, zecile de mii de oameni cu carte din oraşe, orăşele şi comune sunt cât se poate de buni europeni. Dar, aşa cum spuneam, la nivelul elitei este o gravă carenţă de moralitate, instinct al binelui, generozitate, simţ de răspundere şi demnitate. Fără lideri, România nu poate avea nicio viziune nici pe 30 de ani, nici pe mai puţin. Casa Regală are rolul de a inspira, de a reprezenta, de a încuraja şi de a atrage atenţia. Nu este nici responsabilitatea noastră şi nu este nici în puterea noastră de a construi kilometri de autostrăzi.
Principele Radu: Oltenia, printre cele mai preţioase provicnii istorice
Rep.: Aţi revenit de mai multe ori în Oltenia, fie însoţindu-i pe Majestatea Sa Regele Mihai şi pe Majestatea Sa Regina Ana, fie împreună cu Alteţa Sa Principesa Moştenitoare Margareta, fie singur. Am avut de câteva ori bucuria să dialogăm şi, prin interviurile şi articolele publicate sau prin materialele de televiziune, să împărtăşiţi din proiectele Casei Regale pentru dezvoltarea durabilă a acestei provincii istorice româneşti. Care sunt viitoarele proiecte în care vă veţi implica pentru sprijinirea Olteniei şi a Craiovei, în special?
Principele Radu: Oltenia este una dintre provinciile istorice cele mai preţioase. Rareori găseşti atâta bogăţie culturală, tradiţie, istorie şi efervescenţă economică (în anumite epoci, desigur) ca aici. Prezentul oltean nu este la înălţimea trecutului. Acest lucru îl ştim cu toţii. Sunt bucuros să constat că multe domenii se bucură de slujirea unor oameni competenţi, generoşi şi talentaţi: educaţia, economia, arta, domeniul militar, viaţa socială şi mass-media. Existenţa acestor oameni mă face să revin în Oltenia şi să fiu plin de speranţă. Anii trecuţi am fost mereu prezent în Craiova, Târgu Jiu, Motru, Rovinari, Slatina, Caracal, Balş, Corabia, Râmnicu Vâlcea şi atâtea alte aşezări urbane şi rurale.
Voi susţine un şir de patru prelegeri la Universitate, din martie până la sfârşitul anului universitar. Voi veni la televiziunile şi în redacţiile ziarelor craiovene, voi merge la elevii de liceu, voi încuraja companiile economice private, voi fi alături de militari, voi vizita parohiile şi voi încerca să dau o mână de ajutor prezentului, conform cu poziţia de membru al Familiei Regale.
