Ne pasă de istorie? S.O.S. Fântânile Craiovei!

Craiova este un oraş binecuvântat: numărul fântânilor arată cât de plină de viaţă a rămas, de secole, Cetatea Băniei.
Fântâna Popova (cunoscută şi sub numele de Fântâna Basarabeştilor) a fost ctitorită în 1613, apoi refăcută de Matei Basarab la 1651, iar în a doua jumătate a secolului al XVIII-lea de Alexandru Ipsilanti. Fântâna Obedeanu a fost ridicată în 1756. Fântâna Odobescu a fost ctitorită în 1774. Doi negustori de porci sunt cei care au ridicat Fântâna Purcarului în 1818. Fântâna Jianu a fost ridicată la începutul secolului al XVIII-lea şi este situată la intrarea în Grădina Botanică. Legenda spune că aici s-a odihnit şi răcorit haiducul Iancu Jianu. Fântânile din zona Pieţei Chiriac sunt tot de acum două secole. Altele au fost ctitorite în secolul trecut, cele mai multe în perioada interbelică. În periplul meu pe la aceste locuri cu o istorie miraculoasă din Bănie, am avut surpriza să aflu că unele au fost ridicate în perioada comunistă. Craiovenii au păstrat tradiţia ctitoririi de fântâni spre odihna unor semeni dispăruţi prematur. În Parcul “Romanescu” a fost ridicată o fântână în cinstea celor ucişi în decembrie 1989…
Numai că starea lor m-a întristat: abandonate în paragină, murdărite şi îngropate în gunoaie, distruse şi infestate. Unele se află pe lista obiectivelor de patrimoniu. Teoretic, legea le protejează. O simplă căutare pe internet vă va arăta că unele dintre aceste fântâni figurează printre obiectivele turistice din Craiova. Chiar nu aş vrea să vă invitaţi vreun oaspete din alt oraş să le viziteze acum! De ce ar trebui să ne preocupe aceste fântâni? Agenda noastră de priorităţi este aglomerată cu alte lucruri sau evenimente decât refacerea cişmelelor. Nici agenda “gospodarilor” urbei nu cuprinde şi refacerea fântânilor. Nici cei din prezent, nici cei de acum cinci ani, nici cei care au fost în urmă cu 20 de ani sau mai multe decenii. Ignoranţa şi incompetenţa nu sunt “invenţii” recente…
Împreună cu câţiva prieteni am iniţiat un proiect pentru revitalizarea acestor monumente de care nu ştim decât să ne batem joc. Încercăm ca un număr cât mai mare de craioveni să fie conştienţi de gravitatea situaţiei şi, dacă reacţia celor obligaţi să întreprindă ceva va întârzia, ne vom asuma noi efortul ca măcar o parte dintre monumente să fie refăcute. Nişte cârcotaşi au insinuat că intenţiile noastre ar fi ţintit imaginea primarului Solomon, care investeşte în arteziene şi toarnă asfalt cu firmele controlate de mafia portocalie, însă nici nu prea ai cum să răspunzi unora ca ei. Nici pe departe. Le răspund că ar fi fost o miză mult prea mică. Este vorba de vreo 50 de ani de comunism şi de vreo 20 de ani bezmetici, în care nu s-a făcut nimic bun pentru aceste fântâni. După cum nu s-a făcut nimic semnificativ pentru clădirile de patrimoniu din zona istorică a Craiovei. Dacă iubim cu adevărat acest oraş, dacă respectăm tradiţia şi dacă îi înţelegem tradiţia, nu putem să rămânem indiferenţi. O spun simplu şi răspicat, fără ocolişul, ezitări sau interpretări. Ca între olteni.
